Austin Nola Heats Up Over Weekend
4 years agoSan Diego Padres catcher Austin Nola is heating up at the dish, collecting six knocks with a .353 average in his last four contests. Nola missed the first month of the season with a fractured finger, but has started flashing his offensive prowess, including a monster six-RBI game Saturday against the St. Louis Cardinals. The mini streak has lifted his slash to .250/.405/.406 and he's tallied a homer and 13 runs-plus-RBI in 42 plate appearances. While backup catcher Victor Caratini has hit surprisingly well, Nola should continue siphoning back playing time as he finds his groove. The 31-year-old should be locked into all fantasy lineups on days he's in the squat calling pitches.
