4 years agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Austin Slater made the most of his Opening Day start against the Mariners, going 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk, and a strikeout. Slater was able to muscle a fifth-inning Marco Gonzalez offering just over the right-field fence for his first long ball of the season. Slater had a solid 2020 season, slashing .282/.408/.506 with five HR and eight steals, so he does offer some power and speed. However, it remains to be seen how much playing time he will see, as the Giants also have Alex Dickerson as a viable outfield option.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
