4 years agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Austin Slater has been out of the mix since Aug. 21 due to a strained left groin, but he is reportedly nearing a return to the Major League roster. Prior to his injury, Slater was in the midst of a career year, slashing .347/.458/.653 across his first 59 plate appearances, adding six stolen bases. Slater is likely to reclaim full-time playing duties upon his activation, so aggressive fantasy managers will want to be at the ready for news of his return to the starting nine.--Jesse Borek
