4 years agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Austin Slater was set to hit third Wednesday against the Astros and right-hander Zack Greinke, but he was scratched just before first pitch, allowing Wilmer Flores to enter the lineup and hit third. Slater has amassed an impressive 201 OPS+ over his first 14 games, leading the Majors with five stolen bases. Peppering the ball to the tune of a 48.1 Hard Hit% in addition to what would be a career-high 91.1 MPH average exit velocity, Slater has outperformed any projected platoons that manager Gabe Kapler may have wanted to utilize. Aggressive season-long owners could consider adding Slater should the ailment that kept him out Wednesday prove nothing serious. His next chance to return to the lineup comes Friday against A’s right-hander Frankie Montas, which would make him a tough DFS selection.--Jesse Borek
