3 years agoToronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews has been named the NHL's first star of the week on Monday. Matthews recorded nine points through four games to help the Maple Leafs pick up two wins and collect points in three of the games. Matthews also took over the NHL goal scoring race, as he scored four times to bring his season total to 37 goals. The 24-year-old wrapped up the week with a four-point effort against the Red Wings, marking his 10th career four-point game. Matthews is well on his way to his first career 50-goal season, while he looks to claim the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy for the second consecutive season.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller
