4 years agoToronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews scored his 14th goal of the season in Wednesday's 2-1 victory over Ottawa to take his point streak to 14 games. He is quickly closing in on a franchise record, which stands at 18 games. Matthews, who boasts 21 points in 16 games, has been simply excellent so far, as he is averaging close to a goal per game and 10 of his markers have come in even-strength situations. He also leads the league with 4.2 shots per game.
