5 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Avisail Garcia will start and hit sixth against the A's in the AL Wild Card play-in game Wednesday. Garcia has enjoyed a solid second half of his season, slashing .293/.330/.497 over his last 48 games with eight home runs, 11 doubles and 29 runs batted in. When healthy, Garcia can be dangerous at the dish. He has done, by far, his best work of the season when hitting from the six-spot in the Rays lineup. When slotted there, Garcia is slashing .329/.406/.576 with nine extra-base hits and 15 runs batted spanning 85 at-bats. He has hit cleanup most of the season but is being swapped out with catcher Travis D'Arnaud for this elimination game. Garcia has sneaky value as a player that can make a big difference in this all-important game.--Joey C - RotoBaller
