Baker Mayfield Continues To Work Under Center
7 years agoCleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield spent much of the recent three-day rookie minicamp working on taking snaps from under center. Mayfield operated almost solely out of shotgun in college, meaning he has plenty of work to do to get comfortable under center. “We are going to hammer that until I am good and it feels natural. That is the way it should be because I can play out of the ‘gun. Everybody here knows that. We are going to hammer that and we are going to work on what I need to work on so that we can go from there," said Mayfield. Mayfield struggled a bit on Day 1, fumbling several snaps and getting a ball tipped at the line, but he showed improvement in the following days. He is expected to open the season as the Browns No. 2 quarterback behind starter Tyrod Taylor.
