Baker Mayfield Has Sore Shoulder, No Cause For Week 3 Concern
3 years agoCleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) appeared to sustain a potentially crushing injury when making a tackle during the team's Week 2 win over Houston. But after warming up on the sidelines and eventually making his way back onto the field, it should come with little surprise that Mayfield has been deemed a go moving forward. Head coach Kevin Stefanski revealed that while Mayfield's shoulder is sore, he can be expected to be under center in Week 3 against the Bears. While the gaudy shine may have worn off Mayfield's upside over the past two seasons, he sits as the league leader in completion percentage (81.6%) through the first two weeks. Conversely, he could be without both Odell Beckham Jr. (knee) and Jarvis Landry (knee) versus a stout Chicago defense, which likely leaves him on the periphery of intrigue in Week 3.
