3 years agoESPN's Chris Mortensen said that the Cleveland Browns and quarterback Baker Mayfield are "breaking up regardless" of what happens with Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson. Mortensen also said the Browns "want an adult at" quarterback. The Browns have met with Watson in recent days, prompting Mayfield to post a cryptic message on his social media thanking Browns fans for everything. After a rough and injury plagued 2021 season in which he played the majority of the year with a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder, it looks like Mayfield's days in Cleveland are done. Mortensen mentioned San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo as an option to replace Mayfield, but the Browns may want to wait to see how he recovers from shoulder surgery.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
