Baker Mayfield Should Regain Pre-Injury Form
3 years agoCleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder), who will have surgery on Jan. 19 to fix a completely torn labrum and fraying in his left shoulder, is expected to regain his pre-injury form, even if the fracture of his humerus bone requires repair. "The odds are in his favor in terms of getting back to playing, of getting back to the same level," Dr. Theodore Blaine said. Whether the surgery is done arthroscopically or not, Mayfield's recovery should be four to six months. Mayfield suffered his shoulder injury back in Week 2 and played through the injury all year, which led to an extremely underwhelming season statistically speaking. The 26-year-old will be playing on his option in 2022 and is expected to enter the year as the starter if he's healthy. Mayfield will need to impress if he hopes to stick around longer in Cleveland.
