Baker Mayfield Throws One TD, Departs Early With Injury
3 years agoCleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (knee) completed 11 of 21 passes for 73 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a 45-7 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 10. Mayfield struggled to move the offense during the loss before departing during the third quarter after taking a big hit from Matt Judon. He apparently suffered a knee injury on the hit, which head coach Kevin Stefanski called a knee contusion after the game. Mayfield's lone interception was a costly one as Kyle Dugger caught his pass and returned it 37 yards to the Cleveland five-yard line, leading to New England's second touchdown of the afternoon. Sunday's outing marks the first time in Mayfield's NFL career that he passed for fewer than 100 yards in a start. Cleveland will take on the Detroit Lions at home in Week 11. If Mayfield is unable to play, Case Keenum would presumably get the start. Neither player will be a particularly enticing fantasy option in that matchup.
