Bears Claim Trevon Wesco Off Waivers

2 years agoThe Chicago Bears claimed former New York Jets tight end Trevon Wesco off waivers on Wednesday. Wesco was the most popular player on waivers, as the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Bengals and Bears were all in on him. The Jets waived Wesco on roster cutdown day on Tuesday after he played in 12 games for them in 2021. He finished with just three catches on five targets for 35 yards and no touchdowns. In Chicago, Wesco will provide depth behind starter Cole Kmet and backup Ryan Griffin. The 26-year-old former fourth-rounder has caught six of his 10 targets for 87 yards and no scores in 40 games (12 starts) in his three NFL seasons.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
