4 years agoCleveland Indians outfielder Ben Gamel has been claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates, according to Rob Biertempful of The Athletic. Gamel struggled in 11 games with Cleveland this season, slashing .071/.235/.143 with six strikeouts. The Pirates made the move to shore up their outfield depth with Bryan Reynolds banged up and Gregory Polanco going through COVID-19 protocols. Gamel will have to start swinging a hot bat immediately upon joining the team to be considered relevant in any format, so for now managers can continue to ignore him.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
