7 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Ben Gamel (oblique) is expected to return to the team on Friday, per MLB.com. Gamel has not played yet this season after straining his oblique muscle and has been rehabbing in the minors. The Mariners are struggling to field a healthy team these days with injuries to catcher Mike Zunino, designated hitter Nelson Cruz and first baseman Ryon Healy. Gamel may not provide a lot of power to the lineup but can swing the bat, as evidenced by his .393 batting average last June. Fantasy owners should not race to the waiver wire to pick up Gamel, but he will provide an offensive boost to the bottom half of the Seattle lineup.--Joey C - RotoBaller
