3 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Ben Gamel went 3-for-5 with a double, two homers, six RBI and three runs scored in an 11-1 win over the Braves on Monday night. It was a monster night at the plate for Gamel, who has been on fire over his last seven games, slashing .308/.357/.846 with four homers, eight RBI and eight runs scored. He hadn't been impressive at all to start the year, but now he's suddenly slashing .230/.306/.448 with six homers, 14 RBI and 19 runs scored over 57 games this season. As long as he's swinging a hot bat, he should be picked up in deeper formats as a short-term fill-in.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
