6 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Ben Gamel has turned his season around at the plate, going 15-for-38 (.405) over his last 11 games played. It has been a tough start to the season for Gamel, who did not break with the team out of spring training due to an oblique injury. But with Robinson Cano getting suspended and Dee Gordon getting injured and being moved around the diamond, it has opened up a space for Gamel in the outfield. To this point, he has delivered the type of production that allowed him to hit .275 last season with 59 runs driven in. He has taken his average from .171 to .263 during this span and at the very least is providing a competent solution in the outfield for now. He is not an attractive fantasy solution at this time but is contributing for the Mariners and will continue to see a consistent dose of at-bats moving forward.--Joey C - RotoBaller
