7 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Ben Gamel has struggled to start the season, going 4-for-33 (.121) since returning from the disabled list with a strained oblique. Gamel is still seeing the lion's share of at-bats in left field for the team but will need to begin producing soon. Gamel hit .275 last season with 43 extra-base hits and 59 runs batted in. He did, however, benefit from ranking 26th in the league in BABIP, indicating that a regression was inevitable. Gamel will not hit for power but is capable with the bat. He is not worth considering in fantasy leagues at this time and could lose playing time soon to Triple-A outfielder Guillermo Heredia if he cannot turn it around.--Joey C - RotoBaller
