7 years agoChicago Cubs second baseman/outfielder Ben Zobrist (back) is getting close to game action and manager Joe Maddon said that he could play in games as early next week. Zobrist has been dealing with back issues for all of spring training, but Maddon has said all along that he is going to take it easy with the veteran. Zobrist was once one of the most versatile players for fantasy owners, but age is catching up with him and he shouldn’t be counted on for much in 2018 for fantasy owners. Infielder/outfielder Ian Happ and infielder Javier Baez figure to get more at-bats and contribute more than Zobrist will in 2018.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
