Bengals Bringing Back C.J. Uzomah On Three-Year Deal
6 years agoThe Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to terms with free-agent tight end C.J. Uzomah, bringing him back on a three-year deal worth more than $18 million, a source said Monday. Uzomah showed he can handle a starter's load last season, posting 43 receptions for 439 yards and three touchdowns on 64 targets, all career highs. He stepped up his game and filled a big hole once Tyler Eifert and Tyler Kroft each went down with season-ending injuries. It appears Uzomah will have a good chance to meet or exceed those 2018 numbers with Kroft moving along to Buffalo, and Eifert's status uncertain. Target Uzomah as a TE2 in deeper fantasy leagues, but he could be a sneaky sleeper in 2019.
