Bills Reportedly Interested In Adding Rob Gronkowski
3 years agoThe Buffalo Bills are reportedly interested in adding Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free-agent tight end Rob Gronkowski. According to Tim Graham of the Athletic, the Bills spoke with Gronk last spring but discovered he wanted to keep playing with Tom Brady, who retired last month. An Amherst, New York native, there is hope at One Bills Drive that Gronkowski would be willing to finish his career in Western New York. "There's a sense that a one-year, $5 million base contract, with somewhere around $5 million of incentives attached, could be a strong fit for the Bills," said Spotrac managing editor of contract analysis Michael Ginnitti. "That's lower risk up front as they assess what kind of role he may play over the course of 17-plus weeks, and they'll be happy to add on bonus pay if things go swimmingly." The 33-year-old showed no signs of slowing down, hauling in 55 passes for 802 yards and six touchdowns over 12 games for Tampa Bay in 2021. He would give Bills QB Josh Allen another top passing-catching talent, including Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis and Dawson Knox. It remains to be seen if Gronk decides to retire or go to Buffalo to play with his hometown team. Stay tuned.
