Blake Martinez Expected To Be Limited To Start Camp
2 years agoNew York Giants linebacker Blake Martinez (knee) is still working his way back from surgery on his ACL, and he's expected to be limited for the start of training camp at the end of July. Rookie outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux (undisclosed) was limited in mandatory minicamp out of an abundance of caution, but he should be fine for training camp. Martinez looked good at less than full speed at organized team activities after he tore his ACL in Week 3 in 2021. The 28-year-old tackling machine should be ready for the start of the regular season, barring a setback, and fantasy managers in IDP leagues will be hoping he can return to his pre-injury form. In his first year in New York in 2020, Martinez had 151 tackles (86 solo), nine tackles for loss, six QB hits, three sacks, one interception, five passes defensed, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 16 starts.
