Blake Snell And Rays Agree To Five-Year Extension
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Blake Snell has come to an agreement with the club on a five-year, $50 million guaranteed contract. The extension comes in the wake of scrutiny of the Rays for a very small raise after his Cy Young season. There will be no options on the contract and it will buy out all of his arbitration years plus one year of free agency. Snell broke out to the tune of a 21-5 record, 1.89 ERA and 31.6 percent strikeout rate. Snell is a top starting pitcher option in 2019 drafts.
