Blake Snell Dazzles In Best Start Of Season
3 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Blake Snell was marvelous in 7 ⅔ innings Wednesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers, fanning 10 while permitting one earned run. In his best start of 2021, the left-hander allowed three hits and zero walks in a season-high 122 pitches. His only mistake was a late game-tying home run to catcher Will Smith that sent the contest into a 16-inning marathon and eventual 5-3 Friars loss. After being mostly awful this year, Snell has turned in five consecutive strong starts, posting a 2.12 ERA with a 44-to-10 strikeout-to-walk tally. His overall line remains a disappointing 4.58 ERA and 1.45 WHIP with a 29 percent strikeout rate. Snell's next matchup comes next week in Arizona against the Diamondbacks. He's back on the fantasy map as an SP3/4.
