4 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Blake Snell completed five innings in a no-decision Wednesday against the San Francisco Giants, allowing two earned runs while striking out eight. Snell was often jammed in the outing, yielding two hits and four walks, but managed to work out of trouble. His key mistake was a second-inning two-run homer by Giants outfielder Darin Ruf that probably should have been caught. Through two starts, the 28-year-old holds a 1.86 ERA (5.67 xERA), 1.24 WHIP and 37 percent strikeout rate in just 9 ⅔ innings. He draws the Pittsburgh Pirates on the road next Tuesday and should be started with confidence.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
