Blake Snell Finally Turns In Quality Start
4 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Blake Snell recorded his first quality start of 2021 Tuesday against the Colorado Rockies with six innings of one-run baseball. The left-hander worked around four extra-base hits (five knocks total) and a walk while fanning 11 across 97 pitches. Snell has battled efficiency issues all season, holding a 3.79 ERA and 33 percent strikeout rate in 40 ⅓ frames despite a bloated 1.46 WHIP and walk rate north of 13 percent. Tuesday's start is an encouraging sign for fantasy managers that invested in the 28-year-old as an SP2. He'll take the bump next Monday on the road against the Milwaukee Brewers.
