Blake Snell Playing Catch Monday
5 years agoTampa Bay Rays starter Blake Snell is set to play catch on Monday for the first time since undergoing surgery in late July to remove bone chips in his elbow. The reigning Cy Young winner won't return to the big league club until September at the earliest, providing he doesn't suffer any setbacks in his rehab process. Snell holds a disappointing 4.28 ERA and 1.25 WHIP this season although he's provided owners with a stellar 136 punchouts in 101 innings pitched. The Rays won't rush their prized ace back into action, but will certainly need his arm back as they battle for a playoff spot in the final month of the season.
