Blake Snell Pulled In First Inning
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Blake Snell was rocked by the Yankees on Wednesday, giving up six runs while only recording one out before being pulled from the game. This is now back-to-back bad starts for the reigning Cy Young award winner. Snell dug his own grave in this one by walking four batters which is unusual for him as he came into the game with a 7.9 percent walk rate. Despite his 4.40 ERA, Snell is still a must-start pitcher. His 15.4 home run to fly ball rate should come down towards his career mark of 10 percent and his .327 BABIP against should also normalize. His 18.8 swinging strike rate is still easily the best in the Majors. He'll try to rebound in a tough matchup Tuesday vs the Twins.
