Blake Snell Racks Up Strikeouts As Pitch Count Increases
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays left-handed pitcher Blake Snell may not have delivered a mass quantity of production thus far in 2020, but he has definitely brought quality to the mound. His latest start Monday saw his pitch count go north of 100 pitches for the first time all season, which led to a nine-K performance. While Snell is only averaging just above five strikeouts per start this year, he sits at 12.2 K/9, which is right in line with his production from last season (12.4). For those owners who have been able to stay patient with the southpaw, his upside looms, beginning Sunday when he is set to take on the Marlins. Snell will have significant DFS appeal as the Marlins enter the weekend with a .691 OPS as a club, the third-lowest mark in the National League.
