Blake Snell Scratched, Craig Stammen Making Spot Start

3 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Blake Snell (illness) has been scratched from Tuesday's start against the Cincinnati Reds. The left-hander is apparently under the weather and reliever Craig Stammen will make a spot start. Snell has endured a rocky season, carrying a 5.29 ERA and 1.55 WHIP over 66 ⅓ innings (15 starts). After shutting out the Los Angeles Dodgers over five frames in his last start, fantasy managers were surely hoping to see if he could continue the momentum. Expected to make his next turn, Snell's next chance will now likely come this weekend on the road against the Philadelphia Phillies. For DFS players, Stammen isn't a realistic pivot despite a 2.82 ERA this season as his workload will be limited to a handful of innings.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
