Blake Snell To Resume Throwing
5 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Blake Snell (elbow) will travel with the team to Seattle and begin throwing for the first time since he underwent arthroscopic elbow surgery on July 29. Snell is not expected to return until September, but the fact he's throwing is a good sign we'll see the left-hander on the mound earlier in the month. Snell's 4.28 ERA is a far cry from his Cy Young-winning numbers of yesteryear, but he is still missing bats at an elite rate. His swinging-strike rate of 17.8 is the best in the Majors and he strikes out 12.1 batters per nine innings. Now could be a great time to make a trade offer for Snell if your team is in good shape to make the fantasy playoffs.
