4 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Blake Snell is hoping to throw four or five innings in his upcoming start versus the Yankees on Friday. The former Cy Young winner has made two starts this season, totaling five frames of work with nine strikeouts and three earned runs. Snell has dealt with an elbow injury since spring training and said he was two weeks behind schedule when the 2020 regular season began in late-July. That estimated timeframe should put him where he wants to be for Friday's start, but he's a risky option to start against the Bronx Bombers who lead the league in home runs.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
