Blake Swihart's Strong Spring Could Sway BoSox To Retain Him
7 years agoBoston Red Sox catcher Blake Swihart has had a strong spring at the plate while gaining experience in the field as well. His performance and positional flexibility might influence the team to trade other assets, according to Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston. Swihart has a .283 average with two home runs and seven RBI this spring. Now the inclination for the Red Sox is to trade one of their natural infielders, Brock Holt or Deven Marrero, rather than Swihart. Thus far, Swihart has played at first base, third base and left field in addition to catching this spring. Swihart would be an option if the primary and secondary catchers are producing. Swihart continues to be someone to keep on the watch list.
