Blake Treinen Earns Multi-Inning Save Saturday
7 years agoOakland Athletics closer Blake Treinen had another terrific outing in Saturday's 7-6 win over the White Sox. Treinen entered the game up one in the eighth inning with a runner on second and one out. He was able to strand the tying run and escape the inning, then was able to get through the ninth inning despite two errors (one of which Treinen made). His final stat line was 1 2/3 innings with no runs on no hits or walks and two strikeouts. Treinen is now 4-1 with 17 of 19 save opportunities converted and has a 0.98 ERA with an 11.05 K/9 rate. He also has 13 multi-inning outings. Treinen has turned out to be a top fantasy closer this season and should be started at all times.
