6 years agoOakland Athletics closer Blake Treinen coughed up four earned runs, five hits and two walks with a strikeout in 1 2/3 innings of work in a relief loss in extra innings on Sunday in Toronto. He entered the game in a tie ball game and not a save situation, and he threw 39 pitches as the A's frittered away a three-run lead they gained in the top of the 11th after he came on. He allowed a leadoff double in the 11th, a walk and then a three-run home run to tie the game. After a hit and a walk, he allowed a two-out RBI single to send the home fans in Toronto away happy. The homer he allowed was the first since Aug. 23, 2018, so don't worry about Treinen. It was one hiccup for the must-start fantasy option.--Daniel Dobish
