4 years agoWinnipeg Jets forward Blake Wheeler (upper body) has been medically cleared to return to action, but he won't play on Saturday against Edmonton. The Jets captain has been missing since April 5. Andrew Copp has earned a top-six role in his absence and will continue on the second line until Wheeler is ready to return, which shouldn't take long. Jets head coach Paul Maurice has noted that he wants to give Wheeler more practice time before throwing him back into game action. It looks very likely that he'll return in the next game as the Jets will get plenty of practice time in before facing Toronto on Thursday.
