Blue Jays Showing Interest In Jose Ramirez
3 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays have spoken to the Cleveland Guardians about a trade for third baseman Jose Ramirez, with the idea of playing him at second base, according to sources. Other teams are showing interest in Ramirez as well, but the Guardians remain unlikely to move him. He's under team control for two more seasons at a combined $24 million, which is a steal for a player of Ramirez's caliber. Toronto just acquired third baseman Matt Chapman from the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday, but they may not be done wheeling and dealing. Ramirez, 29, made his third All-Star team in 2021 by hitting .266/.355/.538 with 36 home runs, 103 RBI and 27 stolen bases in 152 games. He's a top-five fantasy option in the first round of drafts.
