Bo Horvat Scores Twice As Canucks Defeat Blues In Game 1
4 years agoVancouver Canucks forward Bo Horvat scored a pair of goals and finished with a plus-two rating in Wednesday's 5-2 victory against the St. Louis Blues in Game 1 of their first round Western Conference Playoff series. Horvat opened the scoring in the first period on the power-play and added his second of the contest in the final frame, extending the lead to help the Canucks take an early series lead over the defending Stanley Cup champions. Horvat posted two goals, two assists and four points in the Qualifying round series against the Wild, and continued his production in the start of Playoffs with his Game 1 performance. The Canucks received additional offensive production from forwards Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller, who each scored one goal apiece, while defenseman Troy Stecher added a goal in the contest. Goaltender Jacob Markstrom stopped 29-of-31 shots on goal to earn the victory in the opening game of the series, continuing his solid play from the Qualifiers. Game 2 of the series is set for Friday evening, as the Canucks look to extend their lead while the Blues look for a bounce back performance from their Stanley Cup winning core of players.
