3 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop prospect Bobby Witt Jr., the top overall prospect in all of baseball per MLB Pipeline, is being compared to Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout. Witt, who hit 33 home runs across two minor league levels last year, has an eerily similar swing and follow-through to that of Trout. The 21-year-old is expected to begin the 2022 season with the Royals, and he's expected to be the most impactful rookie in both real life and fantasy this year. Split between Double-A and Triple-A last year, Witt slashed .290/.361/.576. He went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run in the team's Cactus League game on Thursday and should open the season as KC's starting third baseman.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
