Bobby Witt Jr. Hits Third Homer At Double-A
4 years agoKansas City Royals prospect Bobby Witt Jr. went 2-for-4 and hit his third home run of the season on Sunday. The 20-year-old shortstop also added his first double of the year. Along with flexing his power, Witt has also been busy on the base paths and has six steals in nine attempts as he looks to develop into a power-speed threat for the Royals. The young infielder has understandably had some growing pains while making the jump from Rookie ball to Double-A. He's hitting a modest .235 with a K:BB ratio of 21-7 in 16 games. It's unlikely that Witt will reach the majors in 2021, but he's on track to reach the Show in 2022.
