Boston Scott Gets The Start In First Preseason Apperance
2 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Boston Scott carried the ball 10 times for 33 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's preseason win over the Cleveland Browns. He added one catch for 11 yards. The former sixth-round pick was the starter, with most of his carries coming during the opening drive. Most starters were inactive for both squads, but Philadelphia would have been without Miles Sanders (hamstring) regardless due to him nursing a hamstring injury. Kenneth Gainwell was given the entire series after Scott, gaining 46 yards on 11 carries and finding the end zone. It was a battle between the two backs and a glimpse of what the backfield usage could look like if Sanders misses time during the regular season. Gainwell is the better option of the two for fantasy purposes due to his pass-catching upside, but Scott could see meaningful usage if Sanders is out. Keep an eye on him as more news on Sanders is released.
