6 years agoCleveland Indians relief pitcher Brad Hand closed out his first game for Cleveland on Wednesday against Pittsburgh. Hand pitched 1.1 innings of relief and struck out three without letting any batters on. The all-star reliever has been stellar all season and now provides Cleveland with much-needed bullpen depth. Typically, Cody Allen would be the one getting the call to close the game out, but with his recent struggles, it is fair to see why manager Terry Francona let Hand have at the ninth inning today. Unless Allen can make a case for remaining the full-time closer, expect a committee to stick in Cleveland.--Kev Mahserejian - RotoBaller
