4 years agoCleveland Indians outfielder Bradley Zimmer has been demoted to the club’s alternate training site Saturday, paving the way for right-hander Triston McKenzie to join the active roster. Zimmer figured to be a vital cog in the Cleveland outfield during 2020, but he hit just .162 over his first 20 games. While he did an excellent job of reaching base (.360 on-base percentage), Zimmer’s lack of power (just one extra-base hit) was glaring. Domingo Santana and Delino DeShields should now see an even larger workload with Zimmer no longer looming to cut into their playing time.--Jesse Borek
