4 years agoHouston Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks is not partaking in the team’s scrimmage Thursday, even as his season-long appeal continues to see a steady bump as the season opener against Kansas City on Sept. 10 approaches. Prior to being all but lost in the shuffle with the Rams last season, Cooks had reeled off four consecutive seasons north of 1,000 receiving yards. Now, he gets matched up with a Pro Bowl signal caller in Deshaun Watson who figures to take advantage of Cooks’ deep ball threat potential, making for a possible potent combination, giving him WR2 or flex appeal. There has been no cause for concern on the injury front for Cooks since his arrival, making him a high-upside mid-round selection in most season-long formats.--Jesse Borek
