Brandon Belt Activated Tuesday
2 years agoThe San Francisco Giants activated first baseman Brandon Belt (knee) from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday and optioned infielder Donovan Walton to Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move. Despite being activated, Belt remains out of the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals and left-hander Kris Bubic. The 34-year-old left-handed hitter has been out over three weeks with more issues in his troublesome right knee, and the Giants could decide to ease him back into action at the cold corner. In 26 games before his injury, Belt was hitting just .228/.342/.386 with four home runs, 11 RBI, 14 runs scored and one stolen base in 120 plate appearances. Darin Ruf is at first base on Tuesday and is hitting cleanup.
