Brandon Belt Dealing With Knee Inflammation
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt (knee) has been dealing with right knee inflammation in camp, but he has been participating in full baseball workouts and will be re-evaluated next week for spring training game activity. Belt is also returning from a fractured thumb last year. The 33-year-old missed over a month with a knee injury last year, so fantasy managers should be mildly concerned that Belt's knee is still giving him problems right before Opening Day. It's unclear if he'll be ready for Opening Day, but he's running out of time to get into Cactus League games. When healthy in 2021, Belt was fantastic, slashing .274/.378/.597 with a career-high 29 home runs, 59 RBI and 65 runs scored in 381 plate appearances over 97 games.
