3 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday with a mild left oblique strain, according to Maria Guardado of MLB.com. Belt had been dealing with a side issue for most of the last week and a half, and he exited Tuesday's game in the ninth inning after he was seen in pain after swinging at a pitch. Guardado adds that the team believes Belt will only be out for 10 to 14 days, as Darin Ruf will likely take over the bulk of the playing time at first base in his absence.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
