4 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt (side) was scratched from the starting lineup on Thursday night with left side tightness, according to Maria Guardado of MLB.com. This is not a promising sign, as Belt had exited Wednesday's game early due to some "mild" tightness in his left side. Belt has been in the midst of a hot start to the season in which he is slashing .232/.358/.505 with eight home runs, 21 RBI and 17 runs scored in 35 games. Managers should continue to monitor for updates on Belt's condition, as he will hopefully be able to avoid a stint on the IL.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
