Brandon Crawford Nearing Rehab Assignment
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford (knee) is taking things day by day and has already passed the minimum 10 days on the injured list. He has talked with the Giants about possibly playing in a minor league rehab game. Crawford was cleared to begin a running program on Monday, so he's getting closer to a return to the big-league roster. Once the 35-year-old veteran begins a rehab assignment, it might not be long before the Giants are comfortable reinstating him. Crawford had struggled at the plate before his injury, hitting just .215/.297/.332 with five home runs, 33 RBI, 29 runs scored and one stolen base in 247 at-bats. Thairo Estrada will continue to play regularly at shortstop for San Fran until Crawford is able to return.
