3 years agoSan Francisco Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford (oblique) is starting baseball activities on Saturday, according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle. Crawford has been shut down since being placed on the 10-day injured list on Monday with a mild oblique strain, and this appears to be a sign that things are on track for his originally anticipated timeline of 10-14 days before he returns to the Giants. Prior to the injury, he was in the midst of a career-year at the plate, as he's slashing .283/.363/.546 with 18 home runs, seven steals, 58 RBI and 49 runs scored over 82 games this season. Managers should prepare for his return as soon as next weekend, and in the meantime Thairo Estrada will continue to fill in at shortstop.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
